10 Week Alexander Technique Introductory Class

Learning the Alexander Technique means learning how to take better care of yourself.  This 10 week introductory class is a great way to learn the basics and to connect with other people while you are learning

This is a practical class.  Together we explore how the body is designed to move, how we interfere with this natural design and how we can stop this interference.  We look at swapping our habitual effortful approach of ‘trying too hard’ for a more spacious and open approach of ‘getting out of our own way’.  We learn that we don’t need to ‘do more’ in order to release unnecessary tension

We do all of this while looking at positions such as standing and sitting and the movements of bending, walking, sitting down and getting up.  And we also learn how to give our bodies a constructive rest

This is a great way to learn the basics of the Technique if you are not ready for one-to-one lessons or if you find a class environment more helpful.  Classes can be either in person or via Zoom.  I tend to work in small groups so they run fairly regularly.  If you’d like to put your name down for a class, just drop me an email livingandlovingmindfully@gmail.com
